Operation: Military Kids (OMK)
Operation: Military Kids (OMK) is a 4-H/Army youth development project and is a collaborative outreach initiative to provide support and assistance to military youth and families on installations and those geographically dispersed National Guard and Reserve families in our communities. OMK partners with community programs to include a variety of support programs to youth.
Together OMK supports military children and youth before, during and after the deployment of a parent or loved one. In partnership, we create networks of people, organizations and other resources to support military children and youth where they live and raise community awareness by educating the public on the impact of the deployment cycle on Soldiers, Families, children and the community as a whole.
Ways we support our military and help the civilian community better understand the needs of military families:
- OMK's Hero Pack Program
- Our Speak Out for Military Kids Speakers Bureau
- OMK's Mobile Technology Lab
(containing hardware and software to help kids stay connected with their deployed parent) - Free Babysitting Training
- Other Training
